This book addresses European airline und airport managers on a strategic level. It is aimed at clarifying European airlines’ and airports’ strategic approaches and innovation strategies, as it is their strategy on technological innovations, which finally determines the future passenger process. This study covers six phases of the passenger process and the respective (alternative) processes and technological solutions within them.
Each phase of the passenger process is covered within a separate chapter in this study. The processes and the corresponding technological solutions are analysed in depth with regard to its current status and possible future developments in order to derive alternative scenarios for the future of the passenger process. These scenarios are featured in the closing chapter of this study and are accompanied by recommendations for action for airline and airport managers.
