River
River is a young author and activist from the Eifel region. She gained recognition through the publication of her debut novel and several poetry collections, as well as through her involvement in mental health self-help. Even during her youth, she suffered from various mental illnesses that severely limited her daily life for years. Myra Abel processes her experiences under the pen name “River” and in June 2026 published a novel and three poetry collections through her own publishing house. In 2024, she founded the self-help group “Kopfkino” to help others in similar situations. Her story and creative approach to dealing with the illness were brought to the attention of a wide audience through media reports by WDR and Tagesschau, among others.
