High-tech sectors like sensor technology are constantly under innovation pressure. There is often a lack of skilled workers for the sophisticated tasks in this sector. SMEs in particular can often not overcome this problem on their own - but collaborations with other companies can open up new options and solution approaches. Cooperatively aligned networks, i.e. clusters, offer suitable platforms where companies and experts can network and achieve successes jointly. The research and development network INNOinSENS has developed the Bavarian cluster "Sensor Technology" to show how resources and innovation potential available only via networking can be mobilised and has formulated an innovative strategy for the sustainable sourcing and retention of skilled workers: The authors of the final report on the INNOinSENS project offer practical know-how and materials for the sourcing and retention of skilled workers for project managers, HR officers and executives in small to medium-sized companies.
