The development and promotion of competence is one of the most
important theoretical and practical fields in initial and continuing

series "Flexibility for Initial and Continuing Vocational Education and
Training". 38 authors from the field of initial and continuing vocational
education and training (practice, research and politics) present models of
competence development, competence management and competence
assessment that were developed, tested and researched within the
framework of model experiments.
