Nach seiner Promotion am Institut für
Wirtschaftsinformatik im Deutschen Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz war er mehrere Jahre Mitglied der Geschäftsleitung der IMC AG. Als Berater und Manager war Frank Habermann für mehr als 50 Projekte in über 20 Ländern verantwortlich.
Gemeinsam mit Karen Schmidt initiierte er „Over the Fence“ - als offene Initiative für Menschen in Projekten und als Buchprojekt. Der Project Canvas war das erste Werkzeug, das sie 2014 mit einem gleichnamigen eBook veröffentlichten. Die Resonanz war positiv und überwältigend.
Mittlerweile sind hunderte Projekte bekannt, die den Project Canvas erfolgreich einsetzten. Viele Menschen gaben Rückmeldung über das Gute und das zu Verbessernde. Darauf basierend wurde sowohl der Project Canvas – die Leinwand – verbessert, als auch die Art der Anwendung. All dies folgt der Philosophie von „Over the Fence“ (einfach, wirkungsvoll und garantiert undogmatisch). Daher trägt die Neuauflage eben diesen Titel.
