This book gathers the proceedings of ICETe 2024, providing a comprehensive overview of topics in renewable and sustainable energy, clean transitional energy, advanced green materials for energy solutions, waste energy recovery, automation in energy system, and energy policies. This scope of the book addresses the challenges and issues that have arisen due to the increased global demand for energy which is driven by the growing world population and surging industrial activities. Historically, this demand has been primarily fulfilled by fossil-based sources. However, our heavy reliance on fossil-based fuels comes with major concerns due to the severe impact of fossil fuel burning on the environment. The global community has been working hand-in-hand to alleviate our dependence on fossil-based fuels and explore alternative energy sources that are renewable and more environmentally friendly. Accordingly, the global energy landscape is currently undergoing a significant transformation, marked by a fundamental shift toward cleaner and more sustainable energy sources. This transition, commonly called energy transition, encompasses a wide range of technological, economic, and policy changes aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, promoting energy efficiency, and fostering the adoption of renewable energy sources.
