Soraya Beukes is a human rights lawyer with an LLD in Public Law from University of the Western Cape. She lectures at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and is a Research Associate at the Tshwane University of Technology. Her research has been enriched through Erasmus Mundus international research scholarships.

Nazreen Shaik-Peremanov is an international human rights lawyer with a doctorate from UNISA. She has taught at universities in South Africa, the United States, and Russia, including Columbia University, the University of Fort Hare, and Tyumen University. She is also a Cambridge University Wolfson College Scholar.

Meseret Kassie Desta is a researcher in natural resource management and environmental sustainability. She holds a PhD from Universität für Bodenkultur Wien and is Professor at the University of Gondar and Manager of the Mastercard Foundation programme.

Irina Yarygina is a Professor who heads the Department of Economics and Banking at the International Institute of Energy Policy and Diplomacy, MGIMO University, under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and serves on the International Committee of the Association of Russian Banks.


This book focuses on sustainable development of sanitation services in BRICS+ nations. In doing so, it covers the challenges and development of sanitation services, particularly water integration management and sanitation solutions in BRIC+ nations, in fulfilment of the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG6).
