THE QUIET GENIUS:

Beschreibung

This book explores the Vienna Game, a classic opening that originated in Vienna during the late 19th century, as a flexible and solid system for White. The quiet fianchetto approach 1.e4 e5 2.Nc3 Nf6 3.g3 offers a safe yet creative strategy, particularly appealing for correspondence chess where a wealth of theory need not obstruct practical play. The guide delves into six main Black responses 3...d5, 3...Bc5, 3...c6, 3...g6, 3...Bb4, and 3...Nc6, with specialised focus on the most common continuations, while also presenting a series of novelties. Aimed at players who seek a positional yet intriguing opening, less over-analysed than the Ruy Lopez or Giuoco Piano but equally rich in strategic depth this book combines historical insights, modern analysis, and practical examples to help you master the elegance of the Vienna Game.
