This book describes the fine structures of various sensory receptors of arthropods such as photoreceptor organs (image formation, phototransduction, polarized light vision, color vision, adaptation to photo-environments), chemoreceptors (contact and olfactory chemoreceptors) and other sensory receptors such as mechano- and phonoreceptors, hygro- and thermoreceptors in relation to their functions, behaviors and environments.
Emphasis is given to illustrations - most of them high-quality electron/light micrographs plus drawings
