Dripping Folds and Melting States is published in conjunction with Valentina Jaffé’s most extensive institutional solo exhibition to date. Blending artist’s book and catalogue, the volume gathers works from the past five years by the young artist, who lives and works in the Rhine–Neckar metropolitan region. In interdisciplinary and inter-media works, Jaffé explores the principle of collage—as an aesthetic as well as conceptual method. Her paper installations awash in color and ceramic objects examine transitions, imbrications, and the mutability of material conditions. Accompanying essays by Carolin Heel and Fedra Benoli add depth to her engagement with space, body, and material.
