Metaphoric Language in Coffin Texts 548 and Book of the Dead 93

The present work offers transliteration and translation of two sources of CT 548 (plates 1 and 2), from the Twelfth Dynasty, and seven attestations of BD 93 (plates 3-9), from the New Kingdom to the Ptolemaic Period, with commentary. Versions of the spell are characterized by the profusion of metonymic and metaphoric figures, which this work aims to examine.
