Ensuring mental well-being is becoming an increasing challenge in the construction industry due to sector-specific stress factors. Health coaching can be an effective tool for promoting well-being as part of workplace health promotion. The author examines the conditions under which coaching is accepted and utilised in small and medium-sized construction firms (SMFs). Based on expert interviews, she identifies acceptance factors and develops the Dynamic Acceptance-Assessment-Impact Model (DABW) as a guide for introducing coaching in SMFs.
