In this doctoral thesis a holistic approach for the automated generation of assembly sequences has been developed. It incorporates different influencing factors and restrictions. Taking into account the large diversity and product complexity of passenger cars, this approach supports the assembly-compatible product design and provides assembly sequences at an early
stage during the development process for the automotive industry.
