Migration Narratives in European, American, and African Media examines how migration is represented, narrated, and taught across literature, film, visual culture, and education. Bringing together contributions from scholars based at universities and research institutions across Europe, the volume explores how stories of migration shape public understandings of mobility, borders, identity, and belonging. Combining historical analysis, media criticism, border studies, and pedagogical reflection, the contributions demonstrate that migration narratives are active sites where cultural meanings, political imaginaries, and democratic values are negotiated. Emerging from the international Erasmus+ project Migration Narratives in European Media: Teaching, Learning, and Reflecting (MigraMedia), the collection adopts a comparative and transnational perspective that extends beyond Europe to situate migration within global histories of colonialism, displacement, and cultural exchange. By critically engaging with historical and contemporary representations of migration and their educational implications, the volume offers an interdisciplinary contribution to migration studies, media studies, literary and cultural studies, and research on education and democracy.
