In her "Scanogram" series, Ria Patricia Röder creates photographic collages by bringing together a distinct variety of pictorial elements on a scanner screen. Her surprising and intimate imagery arises from a complex process of questioning different forms of depiction. Drawing inspiration from literature and film, Röder is interested in the term "microfiction" as established by writers such as Diane Williams.
The present book is the result of an artistic experiment - Röder invited eleven authors to each select a single scanogram and create a text in response to it. Their fascinating contributions show us in eleven distinct voices how an image and its pictorial elements can trigger a narrative #chainofaction.
