Arranged marriages are most common in India and are celebrated as colourful spectacles on a grand scale. Large halls or tents are transformed by designers to extravagant stage architecture into Indian dream worlds. Replicas of famous Indian cultural monuments like the Taj Mahal are favourite decorations. Bride and bride groom appear in precious, dazzling outfit and celebrate the traditional marriage ceremony on different stages with hundreds of elegantly dressed guests. The photographic series 'love comes later' allows a view behind the settings and shows pictures of the wedding venues, taken before and after the real wedding reception and portraits from rich decorated women in their wedding sari, taken months and years after their wedding ceremonies.
