This book is based on the dissertation of Carsten Brockmann. He introduces a method to design the business model of an ERP vendor. Within this book, readers will find three novelties. First, a procedural model to design the business model has been created. The procedural model starts starting with the idea to establish a software company until the idea is put into practice with knowledge intensive business processes. Second, the elements oft he business model are financially quantified. Third, the value creating activities of ERP vendors are described in detail. The concepts that were elaborated in the thesis were validated in various firms.
