After a turbulent history, reaching back into the 14th century, an ensemble with a total of five buildings has been reunited into a single unit: the hotel and restaurant “Bootshaus” in Amberg. Generous in its conception and individual in its details, the conversion and refurbishment project not only reflects the commitment of all stakeholders but also an emotional attachment to the town Amberg with its special location on the riverbank of the Vils. Despite each building having retained its own original character, they are perfectly connected forming a functional, harmonious composition.
The restaurant on the ground floor with its spacious terrace suspended above the river Vils has become a popular meeting place and, as a result, an asset for the whole town. Above the dining room, there’s a large hall for a variety of events and occasions. Traces from the past have also been incorporated into the finishes of the new guest bedrooms, contributing towards a continuation of the building’s history in a very convincing way.
