Elementary processes in the generation and transport of charge carriers in organic semiconductors are studied with advanced spin resonance techniques. Time-resolved measurements of the electron spin magnetization provide information on the structure of photogenerated excitons. Corresponding studies of the time-resolved spin-dependent transport with pulsed electrically detected magnetic resonance allow a microscopic understanding of the polaron recombination in polymer/fullerene bulk heterostructures, also with respect to device degradation.
