János (Ph.D.) Dr. CSOMBÓK
Dr. CSOMBÓK, János has completed a distinguished military career of 36 years in the Hungarian Defense Forces. He had the honor to spend 14 years by commanding armored units of platoon, company and battalion. Moreover, he served almost two decades at the strategic level serving in the Hungarian Ministry of Defense from desk officer up to senior leadership positions such as Deputy/Acting Head of the Operations Department or Head of the Force Development Department. At this latter assignment he was the Chief of Transformation and the Capability Director of the Hungarian Defense Forces.
He gained extensive experience in multinational environment serving a four-year tour at NATO SHAPE as the Deputy National Military Representative for Hungary. He is a veteran of NATO´s KFOR operation where he spent deployed almost two years. His greatest privilege was to serve a one-year rotation in Kosovo in 2017-18, as the Deputy Commander of KFOR in the rank of Brigadier General.
