This comprehensive text and practical handbook thoroughly presents the control of air pollutant emissions from combustion
processes focusing on waste incinerators. Special characteristics are emphasised and the differences to emission control
from combustion processes with other fuels are explained.

in the incineration process, primary and secondary measures for their reduction, processes of measuring the emissions as

and of backlog quantities as well as of the cost structure of waste incinerators with regard to their applied control system.

Margit Löschau
Margit Löschau was born in 1978 in Berlin and studied Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Berlin. After graduating, she worked there as a scientific assistant and in 2006 obtained her doctorate with honours at the Department of Waste Management under Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. h. c. Karl J. Thomé-Kozmiensky and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Vera Susanne Rotter. She then worked for eight years as a project manager and engineer for Pöyry Deutschland GmbH where she was involved in waste-to-energy projects worldwide. During that time she specialised in the field of air pollution control technology and also lectured at the Technical University of Berlin on the topic of „Air Pollution Control“. Since 2014 she has been the managing director of Wandschneider + Gutjahr in Hamburg, an engineering and consulting services provider, specialising in thermal treatment facilities for solid waste, sewage sludge and biomass.
