The Norwegian painter Edvard Munch (1863-1944) is one of the most important figures in European art. As a forerunner of Expressionism, his traces can still be discerned in artistic treatments across the world today. The influence of Munch’s work on contemporary art is the Subject of the book which presents over 50 paintings and graphic works by Edvard Munch contrasted with approximately 50 selected works by 30 contemporary artists.
