The proceedings at hand include the contributions of the 6th Braunschweig Conference AAET 2005. This series of conferences accommodates the ongoing development of all traffic systems, that the part of electronic systems and their integration increases continually, to enhance the safety, the functionality and the comfort of all means of transportation and to reduce their energy consumption. Against this background electronics, sensors and actuators are not regarded isolated, but integrated in embedded systems under consideration of the human being ? like driver or pilot ? and the traffic environment. In addition architectures, development methods, development tools and appropriate verification and validation methods play an important role, to ensure the necessary reliability and availability of these complex systems, which will extend increasingly in the future to safety critical areas. The conference presents the current state of the art of embedded systems, where as the focus lays on ongoing research and development projects in the field of automation and assistance systems, especially with applications in road and air traffic.
