This present thesis contains a theoretical framework and some numerical aspects for the modelling of hyperelastic materials under dynamic loading. After a brief introduction into continuum mechanics, elastic damage and the theory of configurational forces, the subsequent chapters are divided into two parts. In the first part, some phenomenological models are discussed and applied to impact simulations. In the second part, the concept of configurational forces is applied to a wide range of problems in the field of solid mechanics, i.e. J-integral, two-phase systems and shock waves. A micromechanical approach for the simulation of rubber-like materials with elastic damage is discussed at the end of the end of the thesis.
