In an increasingly competitive job market, work experience is viewed by employers as a valuable addition to the graduate CV. In a climate when employers are calling for more work-wise graduates, there is a reciprocal call on employers and Higher Education Institutions to support the development of students through the provision of work placements. This guide has been created to highlight some of the key areas and provisions that should be included by careers/employment services, or academic departments (collectively referred to as ‘placement services’) in the delivery of their work experience offering.
