An active wave cancellation system which already existed for delaying the laminar- turbulent transition in a wing boundary layer was further developed. This system, which was developed by Baumann and Sturzebecher at the Technical University of Berlin, was primarly improved with a coupled multiple-channel adaptive filter controller. The coupled system was employed to minimize strong cross interactions between adjacent channels of sensor-actuator systems that can degrade a wave attenuation performance without sufficient compensation efforts.
