Development of displays and secondary sexual traits in the shelducks (Tadorna Tadorna)

Beschreibung

How does display behaviour develop? What are the causal mechanisms underlying the display patterns of juvenile and adult individuals? These important questions are addressed in the present study. By using the Shelduck as a model Heinz Düttmann investigated the relation between motor development, social experience, and the development of motivation. Because phylogeny is modified ontogeny, such investigations may also provide insight into the evolution of social behaviour.
