The Indo-German Seminar on Future Mobility was jointly organized by the Indian Institute of Petroleum (IIP) and the University Erlangen-Nuremberg (Prof. Dr. A. Leipertz). This proceedings volume contains the German contributions which formed the main body of the seminar.
IIP in Dehradun is a constituent laboratory of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Government of India, and is celebrating fifty years of its foundation in 2009-10. The Golden Jubilee Celebration includes the organization of a series of symposia and workshops have been planned on the subjects related to petroleum processing technologies and also on renewable and alternate sources of energy. The Indo-German Seminar on Future Mobility is focused on the latest cutting edge technology in I.C. Engine and contains invited German presentations on the areas:
• Future Diesel & Gasoline Engine Technologies including Exhaust Gas Aftertreatment
• Alternative Powertrain Systems, e.g., HCCI and Hybrid Vehicles
• Alternative Fuel Vehicles, e.g. CNG, LPG, Hydrogen, DME, & Biofuels
• Alternative Energy Vehicles, e.g., Electric Vehicles
The presentations have been given by well-known technical experts from Germany and India, from Germany in alphabetic order by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Blotevogel, Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Applied Science, Würzburg-Schweinfurt, Dr.-Ing. Stefan Kampmann, Executive Vice President, Automotive Electronics, Robert Bosch GmbH, Reutlingen, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alfred Leipertz, Head of the Institute of Engineering Thermodynamics (LTT), Director of Department of Chemical and Bioengineering and Director of Erlangen Graduate School in Advanced Optical Technologies (SAOT), Friedrich-Alexander University, Erlangen-Nuremberg, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Nadejda Popovoska, Head of the Division CVD-Processes at the Institute of Chemical reaction Engineering, Friedrich-Alexander University, Erlangen-Nuremberg, Dr.-Ing. Friedrich Rabenstein, Section Head, BMW Group, Munich, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Heiner Ryssel, Professor Emeritus, Institute of Electron Devices, Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, and Director Emeritus, Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Systems and Device Technology, Erlangen, Dr. A. Velji, Manager, and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ulrich Spicher, Head of Institute of Reciprocating Engines, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Karlsruhe & Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Wensing, Deputy Head of Institute of Engineering Thermodynamics (LTT), Friedrich-Alexander University, Erlangen-Nuremberg
