The subject of DISCIPLESHIP is fundamental in Christian living. In the well-known Great Commission, Jesus didn’t say “go and convert”, but “go and make disciples” (Matt. 28:19).
People who are converted and remain only on this first step in their lives with the Lord, are exposed to various errors. We often have to deal with issues like this. Such Christians are like babies with very long grey beards, so to speak, while they still remain spiritually undeveloped. To be satisfied only with conversion and baptism, is biblically inaccurate. The Holy Scriptures teach that we must grow spiritually.
We are living in times were the need for reliable biblical teaching is required. Christian congregations are responsible for this task. Sometimes a congregation is compared with an army (it is strong and manly, in comparison), sometimes with a hospital (also good, even though the emphasis is placed on weaknesses, but healing too);
nevertheless, one of the main comparison of a congregation is the SCHOOL.
