Briska De L'Aven flew as a flight attendant on B727/B737/B747-200/400/AVRO RJ 85/CRJ-700/900/Embraer E190/E195, purserette on B737 and was also an AVRO/CRJ emergency trainer between 1978 and 2020, with a break from flying from the end of 1992 to 2003. Briska also flew for several years as a private pilot on a small single-engine Cessna 150/152 in Germany and USA/Florida. What is life like as a crew member? Flying is... first and foremost, meeting lots of people, striking up conversations with them, and enjoying seeing passengers and crews feel comfortable with us. From an early age, flying and the proverbial scent of the big wide world irresistibly captivated Briska, and her dreams came true... Briska De L’Aven worked as a flight attendant in international aviation for more than 30 years. She flew on a variety of aircraft types, including the Boeing 727, 737 and 747-200/400, as well as the AVRO RJ 85, CRJ-700/900 and Embraer E190/E195. As a purser on the Boeing 737 and an emergency procedures instructor for the AVRO and CRJ, she gained extensive experience in different areas of aviation. She also took to the controls herself: holding a private pilot licence, she flew a single-engine Cessna 150/152 for several years. This has given her a perspective on aviation from both sides of the cockpit door – from the cabin as well as the cockpit.
