Beschreibung

Climate protection begins with the built environment: the construction and operation of buildings account for 40 percent of all human-induced CO2 emissions worldwide. This book aims to show how we can plan and build in a climate-friendly way – from architecture and landscape architecture to spatial planning. Intended to support the sector in moving towards climate neutrality, the encyclopedia is an alphabetical compendium of 79 individual tips from A for ‹Adaptive reuse› to W for ‹Woodlands›. The texts are short and concise, illustrations lighten up the text pages. The handy format fits in a jacket pocket and can be taken along whenever a client needs convincing or an entrepreneur needs encouragement. It is written so everyone can learn something – both lay people and professionals. Climate-friendly building and planning concerns us all, no matter what language we speak. That is why Edition Hochparterre is publishing the book after German also in English, the world language and as an eBook. In this way, the climate tips will reach even more architects, builders, spatial planners and landscape architects across the German language border.

Andres Herzog
Geboren 1984. Studium der Architektur an der ETH Zürich und an der University of Tokyo, Weiterbildung am MAZ. Seit 2010 bei Hochparterre, seit 2019 Heftleiter, seit 2021 Co-Geschäftsleiter; Herausgeber des Buchs ‹Klima bauen› (2021). Daneben freier Journalist, u. a. für ‹Tages-Anzeiger› und ‹Sonntagszeitung›.
