“who cares” is a work combining images and text that documents the lives and experiences of young men growing up with a history of migration. The publication contributes to the ongoing debate on migration, notions of masculinity, identity, and social justice. In 2023, Marija Šabanović and Arman Aghayan reached out to teenagers and young adults they encountered in public spaces in Vienna who were willing to let them share in their daily lives. Over the course of a summer, the photographers witnessed a wide range of experiences—from arguments and moments of joy to acts of mutual care. The photographic material from these encounters was supplemented by interviews and diary entries by Marija Šabanović.
