Case studies support leaders to take up a reflective, inquiring and open
attitude toward their own leadership practices. A specially developed form of
case study is used in the MBA programme “Communication and Leadership”
at the Danube University Krems.
The research case study is developed for investigating unclear and critical
phenomena and is used as a vehicle for translating leadership phenomena
into comprehensible language.
The leaders work on their own real life situations in the form of case
studies, applying practical and theoretical perspectives. They each tell
their story with its highs and lows and identify organisational learning
patterns. Telling these core stories becomes an effective opportunity to
create an appropriate distance and new mindsets, resulting in new opportunities
to understand and act as a leader and organisation.
