Teil 2 Der erste Teil des zweiten Bandes der Materialvorlage umfasst die im Gebiet des Kastells und Vicus Burghöfe / Sum(m)untorium gefundenen früh- und mittelkaiserzeitlichen Fibeln, darunter Fibeln vom Mittel- und Spätlatèneschema, Knickfibeln, Augenfibeln, kräftig profilierte Fibeln, pannonische Trompetenfibeln, norisch-pannonische Doppelknopffibeln, Fibeln mit beißendem Tierkopf, gallische Flügelfibeln, Distelfibeln, Hülsenspiralfibeln, Aucissafibeln, Hülsenscharnierfibeln, Emailbügelfibeln, Fibeln vom Typ Sontheim, englische Fibeln, Kniefibeln, gleichseitige Fibeln, Scheibenfibeln, gegenständliche Scheibenfibeln, Tierfibeln und Omegafibeln. Anhand dieser Fibeln erscheint eine Kastellgründung in tiberischer Zeit, mindestens aber eine temporäre Nutzung des Areals in vorclaudischer Zeit denkbar, obwohl entsprechende Befunde fehlen. Nach einem Brand um 80 n.Chr. blieb das Kastell bis Ende des 1. oder Anfang des 2. Jhs. besetzt. Auch der zugehörige Lagervicus wurde in flavischer Zeit zerstört, blieb aber über den Truppenabzug hinaus als Straßendorf sicher bis ins späte 3. Jh. bestehen, evtl. mit einem neuerlichen Militärposten in der ersten Hälfte und Mitte des 3. Jhs. Teil 3 Der zweite Teil des zweiten Bandes der Materialvorlage umfasst die im Gebiet des Kastells und Vicus Burghöfe / Sum(m)untorium gefundenen spätrömischen Metallfunde wie Fibeln, Gürtel, Schmuck u.ä. An Typen finden sich Scharnierarmfibeln, Zwiebelknopffibeln, Bügelknopffibeln, Armbrustfibeln, Fibeln der Typen Hrušica und Almgren 171, Ringfibeln vom Typ Siscia, Dreiknopffibeln vom Typ Voltago, Teile von Gürtelgarnituren mit Kerbschnitt und Punzverzierung, einfache Taschenteile und Gürtelteile wie Schnallen, Riemenbeschläge, Riemenzungen und Taschenverschlüsse, sowie Sporen, Polyederkopfnadeln und Löwenkopfarmreifen. Die Beurteilung der Funde erfolgt vor dem Hintergrund bedeutender Neufunde wie dem Augsburger Siegesaltar und neuer Grabungsergebnisse. Demnach wurde der Platz mit der Errichtung des spätantiken Kastells spätestens 290-300 n.Chr. wieder intensiv militärisch genutzt. Dabei wurde eine elbgermanische [Elbgermanen / alamannisch-juthungische] Bevölkerungsgruppe im späteren 4. Jh. von ostgermanisch-pannonischen Truppen abgelöst. Belegung und Besiedlung endeten vor 476, wobei der Lebensstandard bis zum Schluss hoch blieb und Fernkontakte fortbestanden. Part 2 The first part of the second volume of this publication of find material includes the Early and Middle Imperial brooches from the fort and vicus of Burghöfe / Sum(m)untorium. There are fibulae of middle and late Latène scheme, bent fibulae, eye fibulae, fibulae with a strong profile, Pannonian trumpet brooches, Norican-Pannonian double knob fibulae, fibulae with a biting animal head, Gaulish winged fibulae, thistle brooches, spring case fibulae, Aucissa brooches, hinge case fibulae, enamel bow brooches, fibulae of type Sontheim, English brooches, knee brooches, symmetric fibulae, disc brooches, figural disc brooches, animal, and omega fibulae. Due to these brooches it seems likely that the fort was founded under the reign of Tiberius or that at least some pre-Claudian temporary activity took place, although no contemporaneous buildings have been found. After a fire around A.D. 80, the fort remained occupied until the late 1st or early 2nd century The accompanying vicus was destroyed in Flavian times, too, but continued to exist as a street village beyond the troop withdrawal, definitely until the late 3rd century, perhaps with another military post in the 1st half and middle of the 3rd century. Part 3 The second part of the second volume of this publication of find material includes the Late Roman metal finds, such as brooches, belts, jewellery etc. from the fort and vicus of Burghöfe / Sum(m)untorium. There are hinged fibulae, bulb-headed fibulae, bow knob fibulae, crossbow brooches, fibulae of types Hrušica and Almgren 171, penannular brooches type Siscia, triple knob fibulae type Voltago, parts of belt fittings with chip-carved and punched decoration, plain bag and belt components such as buckles, strap fittings, strap ends, and bag clasps, as well as spurs, polyeder headed pins, and bracelets with lion‘s heads. The interpretation of these finds is made with respect to important new finds such as the Augsburg victory altar and new excavation results. According to this, the site was subjected to re-newed intensive military use after the installation of a late antique fort around A.D. 290-300. In the course of time, a population of Elbgermanic [Alamannic-Juthungian] origin was replaced by East Germanic-Pannonian troops in the later 4th century. The garrison and occupation ended before A.D. 476, the standard of living remained high to the very end and long-distance contacts persisted.
