In this study the author presents hypotheses on how the functional meaning of oscillatory brain activity can be examined with experimental and signal-analyzing approaches. The implementation and application of appropriate computer programs was a point of primary emphasis. The appendix contains a detailed description of the program system "avg_q" developed in the study. Five experiments in the areas of voluntary motor activity, audiology, language manipulation and classic conditioning are presented with analytical steps and results.
