Der indische Pallottiner-Pater James Justin Dhiraviam Samy hat in einer umfangreichen wissenschaftlichen Forschungsarbeit untersucht, wie junge Menschen in seinem Heimatland heute noch von der Kirche erreicht werden können. Pallottis Methoden und seine Art mit jungen Menschen zu arbeiten überträgt er auf die Lebenslagen der jungen Männer und Frauen in den Straßen der indischen Großstädte. Er entwickelt ein herausforderndes, hoffnungsvolles Bild zeitgemäßer kirchlicher Jugendarbeit. Sie müsse einerseits in die Lebenswelt junger Menschen „eintauchen“, begleitend und nicht belehrend zur Seite stehen, aber – in unserer schnelllebigen komplexen Welt - in spirituellen Fragen und den Herausforderungen des Alltags auch Orientierung geben. Diese Arbeit bietet eine spannende Analyse und einen vielversprechenden pädagogischen Ansatz für Seelsorgeteams, Priester, Jugendseelsorger, betriebliche Sozialarbeiter und allen, denen die Zukunft junger Christen am Herzen liegt – nicht nur in indischen Ballungsgebieten. Das Buch liegt derzeit nur in der englischen Originalfassung vor.
The Youth Work and the Charism of St. Vincent Pallotti Their pastoral implications for the youth ministry today in India This book is a research study with special reference to the emerging pastoral issues and concerns among the Catholic youth in the IT/ITES/BPO sector in India. It first explores the youth work and the Charism of St. Vincent Pallotti and then it examines their relevance to youth apostolate among the Catholic youth in the IT/ITES/BPO sector in India. The work also includes a depth survey among the youths of this sector. The endeavour here is to formulate a special strategy for the Catholic Youth Ministry among youth involved and engaged in the world of IT and ITES sector such as the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and in the Call Centres, a thriving industry in the Indian economy and a podium for many rapid and startling changes in the world of youth. This effort is in all probability first in its pastoral and scientific approach.
