Law and Ethics are in most of the cases behind the enormous progress of science. The Korean Law and the importance of biomedical and research ethics were coming into the focus after the Hwang incident was worldwide discussed. As a result of these cases legislation has changed and biomedical ethics have become more influence. In this volume the legal and ethical questions of stem cell research (Kyungsuk Choi), organ transplantation (Hyeon Cheol Kim), clinical trials and research with human subjects (Soo Hun Park) and dying with dignity (Joon Seok PARK) will be discussed. The other important topic is the development of the Health Insurance System (So Yoon Kim).
There is only a little knowledge about the Korean legislation. So, the editors hope that this volume will enlighten the readers. To make it easier, the editors have attached the relevant laws (English) in the appendix.
