Samson Madievski, PhD (1931-2007) was the author and co-author of eight books and numerous articles on the history of Moldavia and Romania, the methodology of historical knowledge and historiography. From 1956 to 1996, he had been the researcher at the Moldavian Academy of Sciences; after emigrating to Germany in the late '90s, he specialized in questions of Jewish history in Tsarist Russia, the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany. His works have been published in Europe, the U.S.A., Israel and the C.I.S.
