The essays in this volume explore the complex processes of cultural transfer, translation and reception at the interface between different languages and cultures. The interdisciplinary theory of cultural transfer, which integrates research into ethnology, cultural anthropology, reception theory, translation studies and media theory, is surveyed in all its different facets.
