Meditations on Savitri are a compilation of most essential text passages from Sri ­Aurobindo‘s spiritual epic poem Savitri, selected by his life-partner Mira Alfassa – The Mother. Her recitations of these passages in English language were recorded on tape. About Sri Aurobindo’s art of poetry Mira Alfassa – The Mother says: “I see Sri Aurobindo’s expression in its poetic form, it has a charm and a simplicity – a simplicity and a softness and a moving charm – that puts you in direct contact with the ‘Real Thing’ much more intimately than all those things of the head.“ The compilation of the text passages served as basis for the creation of 468 visionary paintings created by the painter Huta Hindocha according to sketches and specifications given by Mira Alfassa – The Mother. These 468 paintings received the name Meditations on Savitri by Mira Alfassa – The Mother. In this book the Savitri text passages from Book IV to V (The Book of Beginnings, The Book of the Traveller of the Worlds, The Book of the Divine Mother), chosen by Mira Alfassa – The ­Mother, are published in English and German along with the reproductions of the ­relevant paintings. The images related to the text passages can furthermore be experienced in a spiritually uplifting and awareness intensifying way as animated film art synchronized with the original English soundtrack of the recitations and the music by Mira Alfassa – The Mother released on DVDs and downloads featuring the complete Meditations on Savitri movie series.

On the following pages of this book the Savitri text passages Book IV to V, chosen by Mira Alfassa – The Mother, are published in English and German along with the reproductions of the relevant paintings.
