In this dissertation, a study of computer aided algorithms are made for the electrophysiological (EP) investigation. Nowadays a set of electronic devices are equipped in the hospitals to perform the EP investigation by the appropriately trained personnel. Except the signal recording and displaying, the evaluation of the results, which is corresponding to different protocols of the examination, is mostly done manually by the physicians. However, a great deal of data make the physicians invest a lot of time in it. Even worse is, the accuracy and the real-time performance of such manual analysis decreases due to the several hours duration of the examination.
Therefore, this study is originated from the requirement of the automatic analysis during the EP investigation. The goal is to find out effective methods to perform the multi-electrical-signal processing instead of the current manual work. The inputs are the electrical signals (including non-invasive, invasive electrocardiograms, and stimulation signal) acquired by the devices and the outputs are all the useful events and the measurements of the parameters under a specific protocol of the EP investigation.
Depending on several-year experiences on signal processing of electrocardiograms, a series of algorithms are developed to solve the problem above. The performance of the algorithms is validated by testing the patients’ data recorded from EP laboratory. Furthermore, clinic test is proved to be satisfying after the realization of the algorithms in an existing EP system.
