Fully aware that the range of key-terms used in literary study is impossible to cover in one book, the authors of this volume operated a selection and approached a series of terms that seem to offer valuable and complex insight into the interpretation of literary texts. Approaching such terms as allegory, antinovel, characters, dystopia, epiphany, epistolary novel, metafiction, parody, realism, satire, space, or time, the book’s structure allows it to be used both as a thoroughly documented critical work and a textbook for literature classes: firstly, a theoretical presentation is accompanied by an extensive analysis of each concept through illustration from works of fiction and secondly, further guidance to step-by-step analysis is given by proposing a wide variety of texts with specific tasks.
