Change and continuity were important elements in the PRC’s foreign policy throughout the Cold War. This book tries to explain the roots of the PRC’s foreign policy throughout the period 1949-1989 and how the PRC could maintain and advance its national goals at the time at which it was forced to change its strategic tactic to achieve its vital interests.
