German as a Second Language (DaZ) courses aimed at integration are shaped by power relations in which racism and gender are inextricably linked. The author examines how gender becomes performative in these contexts and develops the model of ‘migrantised gender’. Her book provides practical ideas for gender-sensitive and empowering DaZ courses.
