How does forced migration reshape local negotiation, cooperation and networking processes in rural small towns? The study analyses ambivalent transformation dynamics of local governance between approaches to integration, new forms of networking and limited participation. It develops empirically grounded perspectives for action for participatory and socially sustainable local governance and highlights the contribution of social work.
