By treating children as active shapers of their lifeworld, Deborah Nägler develops a critical-reflexive perspective on transitions in childhood. Within the framework of a theoretical-systematic and qualitative-empirical approach, the institutional and social conditions of transitions are traced and the special significance of spaces, resources and relationships is emphasised.
