This book contains the proceedings of the International Conference on Pure and Applied Differential Geometry PADGE2012, which was held at KU Leuven, Belgium, from August 27 th till August 30 th 2012. The main topics of the conference were minimal submanifolds, Lagrangian submanifolds and related topics, affine differential geometry and Lorentzian geometry. What was intended at first to be a small workshop within the framework of the bilateral collaboration between KU Leuven and Tsinghua University, Beijing, grew out to a conference with almost 100 participants from all over the world. Additionally, this book is dedicated to the main organizer of PADGE2012 Professor Franki Dillen of KU Leuven, who sadly passed away in April 2013 after celebrating his 50 th birthday one month earlier. It was decided to include in this book some additional articles of colleagues and friends who collaborated closely with Franki Dillen. The selection of the articles and the reviewing was done by the scientific committee according to international scientific standards.
