Phenomena in Strong-Field Interaction with Atoms and Molecules summarizes the research performed by Dipl.-Chem. Jost Henkel under supervision of Prof. Dr. M. Lein. The investigations were carried out at the Institute for Theoretical Physics of the Leibniz Universität Hannover and at the Blackett Laboratory of the Imperial College London. This work gives an overview of effects arising in the interaction of strong and short laser pulses with matter, such as above-threshold ionization, recollision-free ionization, two-colour ionization, high-harmonic generation, and attosecond-pulse generation. Results of theoretical calculations are presented and placed in relation to modern research insights.
