Positioning Systems are well established and used for various Location Based Services (LBS). However, current portable mobile devices have fairly restricted computational and energy resources. These limitations dictate the need for efficient implementations of the positioning system. IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) offers the possibility to combine services and enables fast real-time applications for LBS. In this book, the efficient implementation of GPS-based positioning methods is presented. These methods offer scalable positioning accuracies, have low computational complexity and require low power consumption. Based on the location information and the states of the users, classification methods are used for learning geographic regions. In order to realize this application of LBS, a Classification Application Server is implemented in the IMS Network.
