LANCA Land Use Indicator Value Calculation in Life Cycle Assessment.

Beschreibung

At IBP-GaBi, a set of methods developed by Baitz (2002) to quantify land use implications of industrial processes has been transformed into an operational calculation tool (Land Use Indicator Calculation Tool, LANCA). The basing methodology and the resulting calculation tool, being able to quantify land use implications on different ecosystem services, are presented in this report.
Dipl.-Geoecol. Tabea Beck, Dipl.-Geoecol. Ulrike Bos and Dipl.-Ing. Bastian Wittstock are working at IBP-GaBi on the integration of land use aspects into LCA for several years and are members of international working groups and projects on this topic. They all have been involved in the development of the LANCA tool and in the conduction of respective case studies.
